The Area of Culture of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of Universidad de Zaragoza, with the collaboration of CineMaremagnum, announce the XVI Videominute International Contest with the purpose of stimulating creation in the domain of video-creation and animation.

The contest is open to videocreators of all nationalities with no age restrictions, individually or in group. Each competitor can submit from 1 to 5 works with the main characteristic that each work presented must last a maximum of 1 minute (60 seconds) including credits. Works already presented in former editions of the contest as well as those lasting more than one minute will be discarded. Works must have been never awarded a prize in other competitions.

The subject of the works is free, and both fiction and animation works can be submitted.

IMPORTANT: All those works presented in a language different from Spanish, must be subtitled in Spanish or in English.

The submission of Videominutes must be done only through the online application available here until April 3rd, 2017.

The best 25 works, as a maximum, will be selected to pass to the final and this condition of finalist will be communicated to the respective authors.

The winners will be awarded with a diploma and the following prizes:

• 1st Prize VIDEOMINUTO 2016-2017: €1,000
• 2nd Prize VIDEOMINUTO 2016-2017: €700
• 3rd Prize VIDEOMINUTO 2016-2017: €400

Last November 9th, took place in the Rectorate of U.Porto, one more session for the signature of scholarship agreements for outgoing mobility students, organised by the International Relations Office. This was another excellent proof of support of the U.Porto, during which the students had the opportunity to clarify their doubts at a time they are preparing to start an experience out of the country. The session ended with a moment of celebration and networking during the now-traditional International Magusto, which counted with the participation of over 450 people.

This U.Porto International Magusto (Traditional St. Martin's celebration), where  the typical roasted chestnuts couldn't be missing, as well as traditional Portuguese songs and dances of the Academic Music Group of the Faculty of Law of U.Porto and the Group of Ethnography and Folklore of U.Porto (NEFUP), was meant to present the Portuguese traditions of St. Martin's Day to our international students, who are undertaking a mobility period in the U.Porto, in the framework of international mobility programmes, as well as an opportunity for U.Porto students that will go in mobility to meet colleagues from their host countries.

A Associação YUPI is an association accredited to send Portuguese young people under the European Voluntary Service, funded by the European Commission's Erasmus+ Programme.

Currently, we have a project approved for Greece, with a duration of 10 months, in the field of Communication and Multimedia that may be of interest.

Morpheus Prize: A remote challenge

Students will have to send a 10 pages Powerpoint (maximum), written in English, in order to present a creative idea or a project through one or several of the following categories: FinTech, Artifical Intelligence, Healthcare, Retail, Coding, Design, Space, Telecom, Mobility.
