Dear colleague,

It is our pleasure to invite you to our IX International Week (2nd to 5th May 2017), this year under the title “Change your mind, be open to the new World!” organized by the Faculty of Business Management and Economics at the University of León.

We try to contribute both students and teachers, with an international atmosphere those days in our events. Foreign professors are invited to come and participate:

  • Teaching a 3 hours session on a topic linked with the theme: “Be open to the new world” (examples, the new consumer, how we should communicate?, International Finance, International Business Strategies…)
  • Participate in a seminar with professors from the Faculty to work on potential collaborations (European projects, research, teaching...)
  • Enjoy the social activities and the instrumental Spanish Language course organized during that week.

Also your students are welcome to participate in our International Week. As partners, we would appreciate very much your participation in the event. If you are interested, please fill in the application form and e-mail it to feeint@unileon.es together with your CV. The deadline for receiving the application is the 1st February, and the confirmation will be sent to your personal email.

The Lebanese American University is organizing its 2nd International Education Week that will be held on its campuses in Beirut and Byblos during the week of April 3-7, 2017 under the theme of “International Education in the MENA region: beginnings, evolution and innovation”.This week can be applicable for a staff exchange week.

We are inviting Embassies, Consulates, International Education Institutions, and International Universities from abroad to take part in this event in order to present their Country/University and all the opportunities available there to the LAU community.

If you know of any universities who would be interested and willing to take part please feel free to extend an invitation or provide us with the contact details to add them to our mailing address.

Please note that registration in this event is free of charge; there will be no coverage of traveling expenses for participating universities.

Christmas Get-Together for international students

This year, the International Relations Office joins the “Solidarity Christmas” initiative promoted by the Volunteers Committee of U.Porto, with the traditional Christmas Get-Together for international students.

This event will take place at Pavilhão Rosa Mota on the 14th of December 2016m at 4pm, and will count with the presence of around 400 participants. Instead of the traditional exchange of gifts, all students were invited to bring a small donation, in the form of food products or a piece of clothing they no longer wear.

This year’s edition of the Christmas Get-Together will also count with the “Christmas Flavours” event, where the students interested in participating will bring a typical dish of their home country for degustation. The winning dishes will receive a prize awarded by the International Relations Office.

Golondrina Programme for students with origins from Murcia (Spain)

The Golondrina Programme is addressed to students who are descendant from Murcian residents throughout America or Europe.

The aim of Golondrina is to strengthen the links among the Murcian people beyond the limits of our region. This programme offers the students the possibility of studying during one academic semester at the University of Murcia in Spain with a grant that covers accommodation, living expenses, medical insurance, travel costs and tuition fee.

The collaboration between the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, through the Presidential Office, and the University of Murcia has made possible the development of this mobility programme.

The deadline to apply is December 16th 2016 and the applications must be sent to movilidad@um.es along with all the required documentation (see call here).
