No seguimento da visita de uma delegação da UNIVATES (Brasil) à U.Porto, esta instituição brasileira, com a que existe um acordo de cooperação já desde 2005, informou que oferecerá a estudantes da U.Porto 2 vagas de alojamento gratuito por semestre (de fevereiro a julho o primeiro, e de agosto a dezembro o segundo).

Para além desta valiosa contribuição, a UNIVATES referiu ainda que:

• Oferecem também o transporte do aeroporto de Porto Alegre à residência estudantil;
• Põem ao dispor dos estudantes o Programa Padrinho Internacional, o qual visa à integração dos alunos estrangeiros com a comunidade local, antes mesmo da chegada à instituição;
• Todos os estudantes estrangeiros são convidados a participarem da Welcome Week, na qual atividades culturais são oferecidas (oficinas de chimarrão e churrasco, visitas ao campus, atividade de integração, apresentação de danças, etc.);
• Os coordenadores são colocados em contato com os alunos estrangeiros desde o primeiro momento, em um almoço de integração;

No passado dia 30 de novembro de 2016, foi publicada no Diário da República, 1.ª série, N.º 230, a Resolução do Conselho de Ministros aprovando as orientações gerais da política de internacionalização do ensino superior e da ciência e tecnologia, designadamente, quanto à:

a) valorização do processo de internacionalização do ensino superior e da investigação científica e tecnológica em Portugal;

b) valorização da área da ciência e do ensino superior, no desenvolvimento da cooperação com países terceiros;

c) valorização da cooperação internacional em ciência e tecnologia, deverá ser continuado o apoio a consórcios e parcerias de âmbito estratégico que afirmem Portugal e os portugueses na Europa e no Mundo e que reforcem a capacidade de atração de recursos humanos qualificados para o nosso país, devendo ser prosseguidas, em particular, as seguintes linhas de internacionalização;

d) valorização do relacionamento com as comunidades académicas e científicas portuguesas residentes no estrangeiro;

e) promoção da diplomacia científica;

f) efetivação das orientações gerais da política de internacionalização do ensino superior, ciência e tecnologia.

The Fulbright Commission organizes information sessions on the Fulbright Program in several Portuguese higher education institutions, open to the entire academic community, to raise awareness of the opportunities that the Fulbright program offers to educational and cultural exchange between Portugal and the United States of America, namely the several scholarships awarded to students, teachers and researchers and the opportunities that are available to the institutions.

We are glad to invite you to our International Staff Training Week, which will take place in Cartagena from 15th to 19th May 2017.

This event is designed for staff from partner universities who wish to know more about the UPCT. This week is particularly intended for those involved in any aspects of international relations and exchange programmes. The incentive for us organizing this week is to support the international networking opportunities among our partners.

Here you can find the application form and a preliminary plan on the activities to be carried out. Should there be any changes in the program, we will notify you with enough anticipation.

Registration fees: The participation fee of 80 Euros includes the participation in all  the cultural activities carried out.

All costs of travel, accommodation and subsistence will be covered by the participants (remember you can use Erasmus+ grants for this kind of mobilities).

The application deadline is 5th April.

Practical information (instructions about your arrival, accommodation details, etc) will be sent to you in a few days.

Please remember that you first have to be nominated by your university in order to apply to our International Week. It is also necessary to receive a Confirmation of Acceptance from us to guarantee your acceptance for this event.

Together with IRO (International Relations Office), U.Porto's Organic Units have been conducting various Mobility Opportunities Dissemination Sessions on the 3 campuses, in order to present to students different Outgoing mobility opportunities for the upcoming academic year.

To date, IRO has been represented at the Faculties of Economics, Law, Nutrition and Food Sciences, as well as in ICBAS, and the next session will be organized by FADEUP on December 13th, at 15h00.

We are very glad to announce the opening of a new opportunity for a Student Mobility Placement at the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena under the Erasmus+ Programme.

This initiative will allow your Erasmus Students  to fully participate and understand all the different aspects concerning the running of an International Relations Office, while carrying out the typical tasks related to International Programmes.

Knowledge, skills and competence to be acquired: 

• Language skills (English and Spanish)
• Getting familiar with the programmes (ERASMUS, LEONARDO, VULCANUS, etc.) 
• Dealing with bilateral agreements with universities all over the world 
• Dealing with Mentor’s programme 
• Organizing activities for incoming and outgoing students

Detailed programme of the training period:

At the beginning the trainee will learn and try to familiarize with the work that is carried at the office. The trainee will participate in the office activities and will learn about the administrative side of the work. Then the trainee will help and assist in the work and processes carried at our International Relations Office and collaborate with the described current activity. The trainee will stay at least 6 months.

Tasks of the trainee:

• Help in dealing with international programmes 
• Providing students and teachers with information about international programmes 
• Help in dealing with bilateral agreements with universities all over the world 
• Help with the Mentor's Programme 
• Help with creating and supervising materials for incoming and outgoing students and professors 
• Help in organizing activities for outgoing and incoming students

Monitoring and evaluation plan:

• Final evaluation will take place at the end of the training period.

Between the 28th and 30th November 2016, Professors Nikolay Bandurin, Natalia Gremyakina, Nalbandyan Astkhik Armenakovna, Grigoryeva Elena Mikhailovna, Oganesian Ani Ashotovna, and Tyrkba Khanifa Vitalievna, from the partner institution People’s Friendship University of Russia, (RUDN) visited the Rectorate of U.Porto and the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP).

This mobility has allowed to Professors from both institutions to discuss and share knowledge and good practices in the academic field through the organization of various meetings and visits with representatives of different offices and projects of FEP.

This visit also promoted the reinforcement of the cooperation between U.Porto and RUDN, already in place since 2006.
